The inspiration from this one came from spending a weekend on Waiheke with a friend while we pondered the fact that while we’re not bathing in money we were still able to afford the ferry trip, a night away, and all the food our heart desired, but still felt this underlying guilt at knowing the money could have been spent on our children. Then we decided actually there were mountains of invoices we were cashing in amounting to an undefinable amount for all the nappies changed, chunder cleared, cracked nipples, stretched vag, sleepless nights, and every other facet of unpaid domestic labour our offspring rely on us for that goes unpaid but probably wouldn’t if it was men who had the babies.

This is intended to be very tongue in cheek, and, like all my artwork, humorous.
